Week 1

Introduction to interior design:

  • What is interior design - definition,

  • what is architecture

  • Who is an interior designer and what skills does he need?

  • Functionality and the importance of aesthetics in interior design

  • The role of interior design in modern society

  • Space and its perception

  • space and scale,

  • Scale and proportions

  • Practical task: create space

Plan: to study the capture of a specific spatial measurements.

Classic interior styles

Color lighting

  • Study of color combinations

  • Basics of color theory

  • Color symbolism

  • Working with lighting and effects

  • Harmonization of color combinations, prints (aquatype) as interior decor

Practical exercise: we learn how to obtain secondary and tertiary colors from primary colors and their combinations. Aquatype. Dyeing, rinsing.

Week 7

Building and finishing materials, rules and principles of their use in interior design

  • Familiarity with different materials

  • Bathroom and WC - technical details and design based on the size of the space.

 

Definition of public and residential spaces. Functionality and ergonomics.

Practical exercise: technical drawing of kitchen and bathroom cabinets to scale.

Week 8

Furniture and accessories

  • Study of different types of furniture

  • Working with accessories and decor

  • Concept creation

  • Wall and ceiling decoration

  • Decorative wall and shade

Week 9

Hotel room design

  • TV wall

  • Stand

  • Curtains and blinds
