Art therapy is one of the fields of psychology and psychotherapy, which is based on the use of art and creativity in order to harmonize the psycho-emotional state of a person. It is an opportunity for creative self-expression and better understanding of the environment.4After a month of practical art therapy course, it is impossible to recognize a person. He calmly, differently, reacts to situations. Art therapy does not require professional skills.

It is often difficult for a person to discover and recognize the cause of difficulties. The problem may be hidden from perception, be understood and realized. Therefore, one of the main tasks of art therapy is to restore the connection between the senses and the mind. Deep methods of art therapy,   using the language of art, cope with this task effectively and carefully.

Purpose of the program

Creating conditions for emotional and personal development through art therapy.

The program performs the following tasks:

  • promoting tension and stress relief;

  • development of logical thinking;

  • raising self-esteem and controlling one's own actions;

  • development of imagination;

  • discovery and development of leadership qualities;

  • adaptation in family and society;

  • improving social skills;

  • Improving the ability to concentrate attention.

The client completes the work on a sheet of paper through monotype. By putting the desired paint on a small piece of glass and then using that glass to transfer (print) the paint to a sheet of paper, it creates images.

Monotypy (Greekmono- One«typos»-printing)  is one of the drawing techniques, which is distinguished by the uniqueness of each drawing, image, it is impossible to create two identical works. Spots obtained in the process of work can be left in their original form, or draw a picture by adding missing details. There is no color restriction.

The program is based on the following principles

  •  principle of individual approach - it is necessary to consider individual characteristics.

  • The principle of consistency - the beginning of an intensive process from the simple on the basis of the law of sequential development.

  • The principle of novelty -   it is important to work with foreign, new methods for development

Structure of the lesson

  1. organizational part. The main goal is to prepare the participant for the process, to create a positive emotional mood. Greetings.

  2. The main part - discussion of the work topic and  practical work.

  3. Relaxation exercise. In this part, physical activity takes place - regulation of behavioral reaction, development of imagination, removal of psycho-emotional tension.

  4. The final part. The main goal - in the process of work  to strengthen and fix received positive emotions (possible by playing). Analysis of own and friend's actions in the lesson. Summary of the day. Farewell ritual

The following art therapy methods are used during work: painting, sculpture, fairy-tale therapy, collage, sand therapy, relaxation exercises.

The work is carried out taking into account age characteristics.
